Abadia a. s. was the main supplier of steel and locksmith structures for the construction of the ELI Beams laser centre.
A significant delivery for this construction was the steel shielding structure - canopy. The canopy forms a defining architectural element of the entire building. For this reason, maximum demands were placed on the structure in terms of the visibility of the welded joints, detailing and surface finish.

Precision steel construction
Gantries were supplied to the laser building for the installation and maintenance of the laser equipment. In addition, steel penetrations through the concrete in excess of 400 pieces with dimensions of up to 4 × 3.5 m. These structures allow technology and media to pass through the concrete walls of the buildings and are fitted with steel sealed covers to provide protection against electromagnetic pulse (EMP) transmission.
Steel walkways and awnings for the atrium
Elements supplied for the atrium entrance building include the entrance canopy structure, connecting walkways, a design staircase with solid painted sheet metal infill and the roof structure.
Other components supplied are the steel ceilings of the underground command centre, the distribution structures for the technology distribution or the steel roof structures in the cooling technology and industrial gas management buildings.
Technologically demanding implementation
The realization of this order placed high demands on original solutions of technological procedures during the preparation and execution of production and during the actual assembly. In total, Abadia a. s. successfully delivered more than 600 tons of steel structures and this construction is one of the most important projects of the company in terms of its scope and technical complexity.
