The Flow Building Václavské náměstí 47
Praha 1

On The Flow Building project, we carried out a complete delivery of steel and locksmith constructions, including the steel structure for the so-called crown of the building, which carries an architecturally distinctive, shape-demanding façade rising above the line of Wenceslas Square. This part of the construction placed extraordinary demands on precision manufacturing, tolerance control and coordination with the author of the facade design. As part of the project, we also supplied more than 300 metres of all-glass railings on the roof terraces, internal railings on the staircases and other related locksmith elements throughout the building.

Steel construction for the crown of a shape-intensive façade
We supplied the steel structure for the so-called crown of the house, which forms the supporting base for the architecturally distinctive slatted façade on the upper floors of the building. The façade system designed by Sipral works with a three-dimensional modular design and a continuous curvature extending above the pavement line, which placed extraordinary demands on precision manufacturing, tolerance control and assembly. The design had to allow for precise fitting of the individual façade elements, respecting structural and expansion requirements, while remaining visually subdued in favour of the overall architectural expression. Close technical coordination with the façade designer was key throughout the implementation.
All-glass railings on roof terraces
On the spacious roof terraces on the upper floors of the building, we implemented more than 300 metres of all-glass railings. The solution was designed with a focus on maximum transparency, safety and long-term operational reliability in an exposed urban environment. The balustrade allows for unobstructed views of Wenceslas Square, Hradčany and the historic centre of Prague and naturally relates to the character of the façade and the overall expression of the building. An important role was played by the detail of the anchoring, the connection to the waterproofing and the precise design of all contact points.
Interior railings and comprehensive locksmith supply
Our delivery also included the implementation of internal handrails on staircases, which are filled with dynamically shaped members bent into a subtle S-shape. This element adds movement and elegance to circulation areas without compromising functionality or clarity. At the same time, we supplied a full range of related locksmith elements on the building, which needed to be unified materially, technically and visually across the building. The Flow Building is an example of a project where the locksmith structures are not just a technical detail, but a fully-fledged part of the architecture.
